We are experts in the interactions of transport supply, spatial structure and mobility behaviour. Our work in teaching, research and networking focuses on integrated mobility concepts, accessibility and system modelling as well as on governance. Over the past 10 years we have successfully been hosting an interdisciplinary doctoral research group on sustainable mobility in metropolitan regions, the so-called mobil.LAB, co-funded by Hans-Boeckler-Foundation (HBS). Within the European Innovation Community “EIT Urban Mobility”, in addition to multiple Innovation Projects, we are currently responsible to set up an international Doctoral Training Network – together with some of the most attractive European universities (KTH, UCL, TU/e, DTU, Technion, UPC, …).

Based on that background, we are now looking for support in our team, mainly for the following tasks:

- Working Group on Regional Governance: set-up of a working group on governance questions, related to the social dimension of sustainable mobility in metropolitan regions and the cooperation of stakeholders - with a perspective to develop individual teaching, research and networking.  - EIT DTN: set-up of the conceptual framework of a 7 years international Doctoral Training Network, together with the activity lead and administrative office (at TUM) and the EIT Academy Director, organisation of courses and conferences (1st Annual Forum in Munich, Sept. 2020).  - mobil.LAB: coordination of the interdisciplinary doctoral research group with around 10 PhD candidates and 2 speakers from an engineering and a social science perspective, support of the thematic conclusions and final output (final event on 14th September 2020, publications, …).

The ideal candidate holds a doctoral degree with a focus on urban mobility, academic qualification in qualitative research methods and professional experience. You are willing to adapt quickly to new challenges and learn independently on new topics. With appropriate suitability and commitment, we support you in developing a more long-term perspective, including teaching responsibilities and a PostDoc project. We expect your willingness to cooperate in related activities in our innovation networks.

We offer an attractive environment with many possibilities for professional and personal development. Please also let us know your individual research interests, methodological skills and language competences.

Employment will initially take place for at least 6 months, remuneration is according to professional experience and the TV-L 13 pay scale in Bavaria. TUM explicitly encourages applications by women as well as by all others who would bring in additional diversity to the university.

We look forward to receiving your application (motivation letter, research strategy statement, CV, list of publications, certificates / references) until 21st February 2020 at the Technical University of Munich, Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning, Prof. Dr.-Ing.
